Pat Perkins

Pat is a Professional Astrologer with over 30 years experience studying, teaching, and consulting in astrology. In 1983, along with her sister Carole Ray and local astrologer Jeannette Rydenour Snyder, she helped found the Learning Center for Astrological Studies (originally called the Academy of Astrology) with the express purpose of creating a progressive astrological school dedicated to the promotion and teaching of astrology. She developed and still teaches several of the courses required in the Record of Achievement Program and has developed and taught many elective seminars and courses. She served on the LCAS Board for many years and as President of LCAS from 2002-2009. Pat served three years as President of the Michigan Federation of Astrology and 22 of her 31 years with State Government as a human resource analyst and personnel officer. In 1975, along with her sister, she help found a metaphysical book store in Lansing called the Mountain Books & Gifts Shop. Pat is a member of the Association for Astrological Networking and has her own private astrological consultation business.

Carole A. Ray, Astrologer, C.Ht.

A student of astrology since 1971, and a professional practitioner since 1984, Carole consults regularly with clients by phone or in her office at Coyote Wisdom. Carole and her sister Patricia founded the Academy of Astrology (now called the Learning Center of Astrological Studies), where she remains a popular teacher for intermediate and advanced courses. She co-founded The Mountain Books and gifts in 1975, and in 1991 was sole owner before selling it in June of 1998. She has served on the boards of several astrological and metaphysical organizations, lastly as corresponding secretary of AFAN (Astrological Federation of Astrologers Network), an international organization. She lectured extensively in Michigan and has taught at national conferences in Chicago, Toronto, upstate New York and Ohio. Carole has also developed and taught three courses in visualization and manifestations; has groups that meet regularly on the Abraham material, two courses on the Chakras, a class on color and is a Reiki Master teaching all three levels of the traditional Usui method of Reiki. At this point she has taught and initiated up to 15 other Reiki Masters. Carole is also a certified hypnotherapist and has three CD’s called Transformations: Body, Mind and Spirit.

Sara Cartright

Sara began her journey into astrology at a young age. She began reading astrology books and even tried to construct her own chart at age 14. After high school she found a local metaphysical bookstore and took every class she could manage to attend. Sara began her studies with the Academy of Astrology in 1997 and continued taking classes after the AoA became The Learning Center for Astrological Studies. She has achieved certificates of completion for levels I, II, and III. Sara currently teaches for LCAS and serves on the board. She has continued on her personal journey and is also an ordained Minister through Light of Christ Community Church and Sancta Sophia Seminary. Among Sara’s other interest are Reiki, Esoteric Healing, Esoteric Numerology, Tarot, working with crystals and meditation. She works in a salon doing nails and consulting clients on a casual basis.

Ellen Bluhm-Goik

Over 33 years studying Astrology. Certification achieved through the Learning Center for Astrological Studies, Lansing, Michigan. Consulting clients for more than ten years. Previous service as Board Members for LCAS and for Michigan Federation of Astrologers. Editor and contributing writer, MFA Newsletter. Developed classes and lectures on Adolescent Issues, The Asteroids, Chiron, Chiron-Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, Family Dynamics, the Grieving Process, Neptune, Psychic Indicators in the Natal Chart, The Pluto in Scorpio Generation, Personality Disorders and relationship conflict. Over 35 years experience in retail operation, management and service. Numerous awards for excellence in service, team leadership, business development and clientele building. BA of Science, Western Michigan University. Currently completing Associates in Psychology from Lansing Community College. Areas of interest and research include applying the principles of Positive Psychology to strength-based client work. Utilizing an Astrological model to identify and develop educational and vocational goals that realistically fit individual needs and resources in today’s world. Special interest in educating on the effects Personality Disorder and Mental Illness have on family members, caregivers, and child development. The role social and cultural factors play in the quality of our life and work, behaviors and motivation as these relate to change dynamics, resilience and adjustment through life transitions.

JoAnn Anderson

JoAnn served on the board for the Learning Center for Astrological Studies (LCAS) from 2008-2010. Prior to her work on the board she was the Treasurer for the Michigan Federation of Astrology from 2004-2006. An advocate of supporting others, JoAnn volunteers her time by reading charts for the benefit of charity organizations and helps at local metaphysical stores. JoAnn holds a Certificate of Small Business Management at Lansing Community College. JoAnn is certified through the LCAS Level III and lectures on relationship astrology (her favorite). She currently teaches Introduction to Astrology classes for the LCAS and has been giving chart readings for many years on relationship astrology.

Erin Rich

Erin has been with LCAS since 2004. She has completed Series III in the LCAS Record of Achievement Program and in 2008 she began teaching astrology classes and volunteering for the LCAS board of directors. Erin has written and instructed classes on Celtic Astrology and moon cycle rituals for personal and global well-being. She is currently working to develop the LCAS Introduction to Astrology program into an online format for students. Erin is also a certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master and Shaman. She is the shop owner of Blue Sky Spirit in East Lansing, Michigan, and is working to achieve a college degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Phil Meade

Phil is a graduate of Wayne State Univ. He studied Astrology with Millie Melichor and Win Rowe.  He has taken classes through LCAS, Mundane Astrology and the Hellentisic Astrology workshop with Joseph Crane as well as others. Phil has done client work since 1987. He is a member of the International Society for Neoplatonic Studies. Phil is a published author, poet and lecturer. Phil has been a member of the Michigan Federation of Astrologers and is presently active with the Astrology Study Group of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, MI. He is married to Sandy and has two sons Zack and Julian.

Debra Rozek

Debra is a professional astrologer who has Masters' degrees in Experimental Psychology and Public Health. She has studied and practiced astrology for almost 40 years. Debra is a lifetime member of ISAR and NCGR who has published in the ISAR Journal in the Summer of 1995, and the Spring of 2011. She served as a member on Glenn Perry's Research Panel at the ISAR Conference 2009 in Chicago where she also lunchtime lectured. Her presentation was later made for NCGR Miami, S.M.A.R.T. Ann Arbor, the Midwest Astrological conference in Cleveland, and for LCAS. Debra's new material was just accepted for publication by Dell Horoscope Magazine. Her special interests include research, medical astrology, and alternative healing modalities.

Elizabeth Hazel

Elizabeth is an astrologer, tarotist and mystic scholar. Her book"Tarot Decoded" (Weiser 2004) is a top-rated handbook on tarot dignities,and her Whispering Tarot deck and book has attracted an international audience. She has lectured on astrology, tarot, and practical magic around the US and in Great Britain, and has provided consultations for clients for over thirty years in the Toledo area.
