Basics of Traditional Astrology
Learn how the ancients worked with houses and planets. Day and night charts change planetary strength and chart significations. Morning and evening phases change the outlooks for Mercury and Venus. Participants will get a chance to look at how classical astrology operates, and get to view charts erected in the ancient style. If you'd like to see your chart delineated in the classical tradition, send birth data in advance of the class date. Liz will offer some book recommendations to get you started in this new and fascinating return to astrology's roots.

Cost $20.00, 0.2 points in Record of Achievement
Instructor: Debra Rozek

In this workshop, we will examine the secondary progressed lunar phase, with emphasis on the secondary progressed lunar return. Charts to be presented will be those from members of the "27 club", comprised of rock musicians who self-destructed at the age of 27, via substance abuse and/or suicide. They include Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, and the newest member, Amy Winehouse. We will also look at charts of other celebrities who negotiated that threshold with exuberance and grace, such as John Denver ("born in his 27th year"), and Rob Lowe. An actor in the "Breakfast Club", Rob Lowe gave up the bad boy/juvie lifestyle he'd portrayed in that movie, and shared offscreen with classmate Charlie Sheen at Santa Monica high school, to turn his life around at 27.

This 139 year cycle began in 1965, the "sixties". We are approaching its first square or crisis in the cycle in 2012. In fact Uranus makes an exact square to pluto 7 times from June 2012 to March 2015. This cycle is about the "radical restructuring of peoples and nations". We will look at the history of this cycle and discuss what we might expect both world wide and personally.
